Mission Statement

Our main goal is to conduct research and provide education for the advancement of manufacturing science and engineering. We are mainly interested in sustainable advanced manufacturing systems. We develop computational models to design, analyze and optimize manufacturing processes for high performance and sustainable manufacturing. Our research expertise is on experimental, analytical and computational (finite element) modeling of advanced machining processes such as hard turning, high-speed machining and micro-milling, model-based process planning and optimization of manufacturing processes using evolutionary algorithms, process monitoring and machine tool control, and micro-manufacturing processes and equipment.
